ELECTRICAL METALLIC TUBING EMT CONDUIT

Steel

ALEX® Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT)

ALEX® EMT Conduit (Electrical Metallic Tubing) is manufactured from high-grade steel and available in both pre-galvanized EMT and hot-dip galvanized EMT (HDG EMT)

Our EMT conduit is lightweight, easy to bend, corrosion-resistant, and suitable for electrical installations in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.

What Is EMT Conduit ?

ALEX® Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) offers superior protection and routing for electrical wiring in various construction environments. Crafted from soft-raw material, and we are very proud that we are the only factory in China that uses this material to ensure our EMT is bendable while not broken, our EMT is available in pre-galvanized and hot dip galvanized options, ensuring exceptional durability and corrosion resistance.

Please check out our bending EMT from the top video on our YouTube Channel: ALEX EMT ALEX EMT - BENDING GUARANTEE

Bending from the top is the most straightforward way to demonstrate the quality of EMT conduit, as it requires both high-grade raw materials and skilled manufacturing. Our EMT conduit performs reliably in this test, from sizes ranging from 1/2 inch to 1 inch.

  • Pre-Galvanized EMT Conduit:

Coating Thickness: Typically up to 20 microns with 275g/m^2 zinc coating.

Process: Involves galvanizing the steel coil before forming the conduit, resulting in a thinner zinc layer.

Application: Suitable for indoor environments where exposure to corrosive elements is minimal.

  • Hot-Dip Galvanized EMT Conduit:

Coating Thickness: Generally 45 microns, depending on factors like steel composition and immersion time.

Process: The formed conduit is immersed in molten zinc, producing a thicker, more robust coating.

Application: Ideal for outdoor or harsh environments due to its enhanced corrosion resistance.

ALEX Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) is designed to safeguard electrical wiring in various construction environments. Available in both pre-galvanized and hot dip galvanized finishes, ALEX EMT offers superior durability, corrosion resistance, and reliable performance. Our tubing is lightweight and easy to bend, ensuring effortless installation for both exposed and concealed applications. Ideal for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, ALEX EMT meets stringent safety standards while delivering exceptional quality and value.

How to calculate the weight for EMT conduit?

To calculate the weight of a steel conduit, you can use the following formula :

Weight (kg) = [OD (mm) – WT (mm)] × WT (mm) × 0.02466 × Length (m)

  • OD: Outside Diameter (mm)

  • WT: Wall Thickness (mm)

This formula accounts for the cross-sectional area and the density of steel, giving you the weight per conduit.

Example:
For a 3/4" EMT Conduit, the standard OD is 23.4 mm, wall thickness is 1.25 mm, and length is 3.05 m.
Weight = (23.4 – 1.25) × 1.25 × 0.02466 × 3.05 ≈ 1.36 kg

This is the standard weight for EMT conduit. For hot-dip galvanized conduit, the weight will be slightly higher because of the added zinc coating.

ALEX EMT Manufacturing & Quality Control

We manufacture a large volume of EMT Conduit every year, and each bundle is wrapped in a blue woven bag for protection. This ensures that when you receive it, the conduit remains clean and well protected
